BudUrl is an online link shortener that provides additional click stats. The video below shows the true value of this great online tool. You’re right, there are a variety of link shorteners available but BudURL provides better stats to keep you really informed.

After you create an account at BudURL simply insert the link that you want to track. After you convert the link and post it within a page of your choice you can see a graph of how many people click on the link. The really cool part of BudURL is being able to see almost real time data, the click stream page updates automatically every 10 seconds. As the video points out you can can create a note within the individual links to quickly see which links are being clicked under the click stream tab. Watch the video below to find out more about it.

Each clicked linked that is displayed also collects the unique IP information of the visitor, you can tell if the same viewer is clicking the link multiple times. Sometimes your analytics program that you have installed on your website doesn’t register every single visit. The IP data is proof that users have clicked the link and landed on your site.

So why would this information be valuable? If you are working on a page that only allows a certain number of characters ever character is valuable. BudURL as a link shortener works very well. By measuring the clicks that you post you can quickly determine which sites work best for posting links. You get real time click stats numbers and you can quickly gauge the interest and success of a posted link.

You don’t always link to pages where you can access the analytics data. By using BudURL you can still see the amount of traffic that you send to a page. There are a variety of places around the web where this information would be really valuable. Lets say that you posted an item on Craigslist and linked to additional photos or information on the web. If you create two listings using different titles, text, or categories you can quickly see which categories work best.

There are a variety of additional uses for BudURL. What ways can you think of to use this tool that are not covered in this post? Please list examples of how you might use this tool below.
