With mountains of information on the internet it can be time consuming to find the data that you are looking for. Likewise returning to the same data sources can be a chore at times. Buru.com is a new site currently in beta that allows you to consolidate your data into one place on the web. Data can be selected and added to your Buru folders with a few clicks of a button.

Grabbing, saving, and sharing content on the web is simple with Buru. Install a “Buru picker” as a Firefox add on and save text, image, video’s and RSS feeds from all over the web. Easily tag and organize your data for easy finding in the future. The collaborative features are a nice addition, you can follow the Buru’s that other people create. Take a minute to watch the video below to see for yourself how this new site works.

The ability to capture and save the variations of data from around the web and mash them into a Buru is a great way to consolidate and condense thoughts on a topic. It also captures the source of the data so that you can attribute reference sources when you use the data in the future. For a collaborative research project using Buru would be a great way to stay up to speed with what the other members have researched.

As a user of Buru you have the option to keep your data private or release it to the public. Public data can be followed by other Buru users, new data can be kept up with by accessing the Buru data stream. The privacy options offer you the flexibility to determine how and when you let other people access your information. What do you think about Buru?
