Leveraging RSS Feeds and The Sage-Too Addon For Firefox

by James M. Helms on October 14, 2008

There are a wide variety of aggregators around the internet. Some of them are better than others. If you are new to RSS feeds or don’t quite understand their value this video is for you. If you are relatively in-experienced I would really appreciate your feedback, you can leave it in the comments, go to the feedback forum on the left, or join and comment on the Facebook group.

While there are a wide variety of aggregators there are trade offs dependent upon which aggregator you use. Today’s tool that I suggest you consider is Sage-Too, a slim, easy to access, very functional aggregator. There are a couple of reasons why, please read on and watch the video below.

What Makes Sage Tool a “Best Tool”

Sage-Too is lightweight and simply designed, its fast and easy to access. I use Sage-Too as a simple tool to add RSS feeds as I come across them in Firefox. Every so often I export my RSS feeds to a couple of other aggregators that I use for searching and browsing in. I do use Sage-Too to read the feeds as well, but not exclusively.

The Main Benefit of Sage-Too

Hundreds of feeds are just a couple clicks away, I don’t have to navigate to a site, I simply open the feeds in a new window. I can access a variety of blogs very quickly. Getting data quick is essential…I’ve got a lot of things to do and I only work 18 hours a day.

If you don’t use RSS feeds you are at a disadvantage as compared to your competitors. We live in an age of information. Information is sometimes an online based businesses only competitive advantage. If you have a small business you cannot compete without using RSS feeds.

RSS Feeds Are For More Than Reading News and Blogs

Seriously, you can monitor a great variety of things with RSS feeds, if a site doesn’t have an RSS feed there are tools that allow you to create an RSS feed from a page with static content. The uses are large and growing. What kinds of things do you use RSS to do? What additional information would be valuable to talk about concerning RSS?
