Mobile phones are becoming more sophisticated and third party applications further expand our mobile phones functionality. As these third party apps develop, the potential to rewrite how we communicate and work further develops as well. The phone started out as a way to expedite communication between two parties, and then we were given the ability to conference call. We can now easily set up conference calls with our mobile units and quickly communicate with many people simultaneously.
Today our ability to use the mobile platform for a new use continues to develop with Tatango, still in private beta. Tatango allows the user to set up, monitor, and message groups of people from both a computer and a mobile phone. Like they say on their website “Tatango allows you to take your group mobile”. Tatango can be used in a variety of ways to communicate to large groups of people.
If you have a larger project or group that you would like to coordinate or interact with away from a meeting room Tatango may be a good option for you. You can have one main group, subgroups, and allow certain users to become sub admins for easy group management. You can have multiple groups and you can [post Edit] send 100 e-mail invites through their system, however, you can use your own email client or some of our other opt-in methods to gain more members. There is no cap on the number of members you can have in your Tatango group, and the service is completely free.[/edit]
Consider using Tatango for mass communicating and mobile marketing. If you add an opt in widget to your blog or website you can keep in touch with a group or customer interested in what you may have to say. For instance lets say that you have a special offer that may be available for a limited time, text your group and give tell them about it…Spam your group incessantly and followers can simply opt out of the group by sending a text message.
Using an on page widget may be a great way to grow a targeted group of individuals focused on a topic that interests them. Tatango keeps group members information private and only visible by the group administrator. At this time Tatango is only available for use within the United States and like I mentioned its in private beta. Get yourself on the list and get ready to redefine how you communicate.
